This full-day, interactive workshop is designed for special education professionals who already have a foundational understanding of the evaluation process and are ready to deepen their skills through hands-on practice.
Participants will join a team and step into one of several roles, special education teacher, general education teacher, administrator, related service provider, school psychologist, or parent. This role-play element creates a chance to “perspective swap,” allowing you to work through the referral-to-eligibility and FBA process through the lens of a team member you may not typically represent.
Throughout the day, teams will apply best practices, analyze a case study, and collaboratively navigate each stage of the evaluation and FBA process. Learning will be highly interactive, with opportunities to apply concepts, share expertise, and practice communication strategies with colleagues. You’ll leave with practical tools, strengthened skills, and collaborative approaches you can immediately bring back to your school to support more effective evaluations and improved teamwork with students and families.
